Trauma Processing Therapy

Trauma Processing Therapy is done in a secure, virtual platform, with a therapist trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

What is CPT?

CPT is a therapy that can reduce symptoms of trauma (PTSD) and improve daily life. CPT can help if you’ve experienced trauma, like sexual abuse, vehicle accidents, violence, medical trauma, domestic abuse, or early childhood abuse.

CPT usually takes 6-18 sessions to see results, averaging 12 sessions.

Anyone experiencing symptoms from trauma can benefit from CPT, not just those diagnosed with PTSD.

How does CPT work?

CPT teaches you how traumatic experiences change your thoughts, and how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviours. You learn how to challenge unhelpful thoughts that keep you stuck in your recovery.

CPT aims to reduce distress from unwanted memories, decrease avoidance from triggers, and reduce guilt, shame, fear, and self-blame. Together, we work on changing the narrative of the trauma story and improve your quality of life.
